Max Eckardt & Sons founded Shiny Brite in 1937, aiming to create an American-made alternative to German glass ornaments. The company's ornaments were widely sold in Woolworth's stores, especially during the 1940s and 1950s. They sold the company to Poloran Products in early 1970s
